Lori, an otherwise healthy woman in her mid 50’s, came to Solaj after suffering chronic lower back, leg and foot pain for several years. Her spondylosis pain was so severe that she was forced to stop working as a primary school teacher. She was having difficulty walking around first thing in the morning. And she couldn’t spend a long time on her feet. Even carrying a couple bags with groceries came to be a challenge. Before visiting with us, she had seen several other health care practitioners, and tried several types of treatments. All without much relief.
Even the heavy pain medication she’d been taking for over a year didn’t seem to be helping her much. Not only was her lower back in a lot of pain, but her legs also felt heavy and tired. She had pain on the bottom of her feet, and she would get occasional cramping in her leg muscles. An MRI of her lower back revealed extensive degenerative changes in her spine, as well as multiple disc bulges. These were causing irritation of the nerves that exit the spine and travel into the legs and feet. And that explained why she was having all this leg pain.

After assessing Lori’s current condition and reviewing her MRI report, Doctor Mel recommended Cold Laser Therapy. The initial treatment plan was to concentrate on her lower back since it was likely that Lori’s leg pain and cramping was a secondary of her lower back condition.
Lori Experiences Cold Laser Therapy for Spondylosis Pain
After six lower back treatments at three times per week, Lori was already starting to feel significantly better. The cramping in her legs was gone. She was able to carry her grocery bags with more ease, and she found that she had more energy in the mornings. And the pain in her right foot was also gone, but her left foot was still sore. So together with Doctor Mel, she decided to also add treatment to her left foot directly, to reduce the inflammation and speed up the healing process in that area.
After ten lower back treatments and four treatments on her left foot, Lori told us that she was feeling great. She was able to do a trail walk that she hadn’t done in over two years. In addition, she was doing a lot more housework again. And she was able to carry around her granddaughter, and move around in the morning without much pain. By that time she had also reduced her pain medication dosage by half.
Lori gets her life back
“After suffering from intense foot and back pain for over two years, I tried all sorts of medical interventions. I was on pain medication and made the decision to retire from 35 years as a primary teacher. After the cold laser treatment at Solaj I have my life back. I am off all pain medication. I can walk and carry my new grand daughter! I am hopeful for continued improvement. My goal is to play tennis again in the spring. Thank you everyone at Solaj!
Over the next few months, Lori came in for treatment once every one or two weeks, while she continued to increase her level of activity. After eight more lower back and foot treatments, Lori was pain free and able to everything she was having difficulty with prior to treatment. And she was thrilled to report that she was able to stop taking pain medication entirely. Lori even went back to work, something she thought would never happen. She was so pleased with her results that she wrote us a friendly note.
